Harleen Kaur Rekhi on Her First Lead Role in Kaamdhenu Gaumata

Harleen Kaur Rekhi plays the lead role of Kaamdhenu Devi in Kaamdhenu Gaumata, produced by Prem and Shiv Sagar. After 14–15 years in the industry, Harleen is thrilled to finally headline a major show. Though initially rejected after her audition, she was surprised to be finalized months later. A theatre veteran with Ramleela experience, she found her foundation in shudh Hindi helpful but still studied 10–12 episodes to fully understand her character. Preparing for the mythological role involved hours of physical transformation and mastering the language, posture, and costume. Harleen shared a strong bond with producer Prem Sagar, calling him a mentor. She emphasized the emotional discipline needed in such roles, especially to not let dark characters influence real life. “Carry forward the positives like compassion and calmness,” she said, adding that this role felt like a culmination of years of dedication and learning.
